Eating something consciously or subconsciously (that is eating without actively thinking about it) is controlled by the brain; the brain triggers the hormone that causes hunger, the brain issues the order to grab something and chew it, the brain decides whether more of this tasty food is required even when feeling full, the brain... you’ve got the idea.
